78th Street

Project: 78th Street from I-70 to State Avenue, Wyandotte County

Owner: Kansas Department of Transportation

Contract Amount: $5,955,555

This project consists of major reconstruction of the existing roadway with grading, pipe, retaining wall, 19,000 tons of asphalt paving and 7,200 SY of concrete paving. Traffic congestion along 78th Street, coupled with the proximity to I-70 make this job a challenge for members of the J. M. Fahey team. Work began on this project in fall 2010 and is scheduled for late 2011 completion.
