Mr. Joseph M. Fahey founded J. M.
Fahey Construction Company in 1971. After establishing a solid
foundation by gradually pursuing larger jobs in the early years,
the Company entered the cold milling market in 1979.
In 1984, J. M. Fahey Construction
Company acquired its first asphalt plant in Kansas City, Kansas.
This plant allowed Fahey to work closely with municipalities
in Johnson, Wyandotte and Leavenworth Counties, and the Kansas
Department of Transportation, on their hot-mix asphalt requirements.
J. M. Fahey Construction Company next acquired a concrete paving
spread that provided additional capabilities for high-type slipform
concrete paving in 1988. Fahey is especially proud of the fact
that our concrete paving operations have won local and national
awards for quality in each of the last four decades.
During the summer of 1988, 900 acres
of quarry ground was acquired in northern Cass County, just
south of the metropolitan area. Beyer Crushed Rock Co. is the
Fahey business entity at this location. Beyer is a major aggregate
supplier to Fahey jobsites and asphalt plants in addition to
supplying hundreds of customers throughout the area.
Fahey purchased a second asphalt
plant in Kansas City, Missouri in the spring of 1989 and established
a Missouri side asphalt presence. The 1990s were a period
of acclimation and growth for Fahey. Key personnel joined the
Company and a new headquarters building was constructed on the
Grandview property in 1999. The Fahey website was introduced
in 2000.
J. M. Fahey Construction Company
has grown in size and stature since 1971. We are proud of the
work we do in providing highway and heavy construction infrastructure
to the citizens of Missouri and Kansas. We are equally proud
of the aggregates and asphalt materials that we supply to our
customers throughout the greater Kansas City area.
J. M. Fahey Construction Company
has worked for over four decades to earn our reputation
as a quality construction organization. Our goal is to continually
improve our Company
as we address the opportunities and
challenges of the next forty years!
